The active ingredient of Nexium 24HR Tablets is esomeprazole 20mg, and it is indicated for adults and children aged 12 years and older with heartburn. Nexium 24HR Tablets are for use by adults and children as well as pediatric patients who have reflux symptoms such as heartburn, acid regurgitation, and stomach pain or discomfort. For children aged 4 years and older, the treatment is to take 20mg once a day for 14 days. The maximum recommended dose is 20mg per day.Children aged 4 years and older may be prescribed a 20mg dose daily in the evening. It is recommended to take the medication on an empty stomach, at least 1 hour before or 2 hours after meals. The medication is only used on an empty stomach.
